Singer Cherilyn Sarkisian, better known as Cher has been selected as the new face of Marc Jacobs for the brand’s fall 2015 campaign! It seems like a big competition among fashion houses and brands to choose the most iconic celebrity as their brand ambassador, as we have seen Julia Roberts starring in Givenchy’s spring 2015 ad campaign, Madonna promoting Versace’s spring 2015 designs and Riccardo Tisci himself starring in Givenchy’s fall 2015 campaign along with Versace’s creative designer Donatella Versace! Now, the 69-year-old singer and actress, who was spotted at 2015 Met Gala in a sequined Marc Jacobs dress accompanied by Marc Jacobs, is the queen in Jacobs’s edgy fall campaign shot by David Sims, posing in a long black gown inspired by Diana Vreeland’s apartment.

We start to wonder whether a modeling career is something actual at the moment or not? Choosing a Hollywood actress or singer to promote a fashion collection, a beauty product or perfume has become something very common in the fashion industry lately, and it’s quite natural, as after all it’s not models that excite us posing for the camera lens of a renowned photographer, but a celebrity, since the former is doing her job, which is quite natural, while the latter is inspiring its devoted fans showing her more playful side. In the modern world of the rapid development of everything around us, surprising someone and attracting attention with “innovation” has become a very difficult task, if not something impossible, and it’s here that we notice the tendency of turning to the old but classic gold.
